How we got our name

We contacted Taipari Munro, a community leader for Maori in Whangarei NZ, he spoke to us about the ancient histories of the area where our business would be operating and from there came the name Ahi Pupurangi (To cook the Pupurangi). The Pupurangi is a Kauri Snail (Paryphanta Busbyi) which habitat is the local native bush that surround the city of Whangarei and the Town Basin Quayside & Marina.
